Chin Augmentation

The chin is the nadir of the facial contour and is also the center of gravity of the face, which is critical to the proportion of the facial plastic surgeries. In particular, as orientals commonly have relatively wide and big faces, the chin mostly appears round and short or retracted, which affects mouth expression in mild cases to cause mouth corner sagging or a downward mouth shape and results in chin skin sagging or even double jowls in severe cases.

From the perspective of numerological concepts, the chin is where the spirits convene. A well-proportionate chin sets off the face shape and makes one look energetic, which is a necessary character in a modern highly competitive workplace. This is a reason why chin augmentation has been drawing increasing attention from patients aspiring for beauty and has been frequently combined with other facial plastic surgeries (such as augmentation rhinoplasty or facial bone reduction). It is indispensable for facial reconstruction and esthetic plastic surgery.

Chin augmentation is mainly aimed to redress the too short or retracted chin. Because the surgery does not break the skeleton and muscles of the chin, it does not affect facial expression or speaking. The surgery generally conceals the incision inside the mouth. A 1.5–2cm incision is made at the lower gum, and the chin skin is detached from the deep skeleton. Then, the modified chin implant is emplaced into the subperitoneal space, and the position and stability of the implant are confirmed before wound stitching. At present, WiSH Clinic offers three different methods and materials for esthetic chin augmentation:

Medpor Contour Implant

Sili-Tex Monoblock Implant

Silicone Implant

各式下巴植體

We provide all types of different chin implants suitable for any shape and condition of face contour.
